Motorola Announces New Tablet and Stylus Phone for US Market
Motorola unveiled the Moto Pad tablet and updated Moto G Stylus phone, marking the company's return to US tablet sales after over a decade.
Motorola announced two new devices Tuesday, including its first tablet designed for the US market in more than a decade. The Moto Pad represents the company's return to American tablet sales, with the last US-available Motorola tablet being Verizon's Xyboard series released in 2011.
The announcement also included the 2026 edition of the Moto G Stylus, featuring an upgraded stylus pen with enhanced functionality. The new pen responds to both tilt and pressure changes when used with compatible applications, representing an improvement over previous versions.
The Moto Pad will be available through US carriers, though specific pricing and availability details were not immediately disclosed. The decision to re-enter the US tablet market comes as Motorola seeks to expand its product portfolio beyond smartphones.
Motorola's previous tablet efforts in the US market were limited, with the Xyboard tablets representing one of the few attempts to establish a presence in the American tablet segment. The company has maintained a stronger tablet presence in international markets during the intervening years.
