"Apparently, I just got retired — not by choice, but because I'm no longer allowed to compete," Van Leuven stated in the social media post. She indicated her intention to continue challenging the new restrictions, saying she is "not done fighting."

The Darts Regulation Authority's decision follows similar policy changes in various sports organizations worldwide regarding transgender athlete participation. The new rules represent a significant shift in the sport's approach to gender eligibility for competitive events.
