YouTube Premium subscription prices increase in the United States
YouTube has raised prices for its Premium subscription service, with individual plans increasing by $2 and family plans rising by $4 per month.

YouTube has implemented price increases for its Premium subscription service in the United States, marking the latest streaming platform to raise rates amid ongoing inflation pressures.
The individual YouTube Premium plan now costs $15.99 per month, representing a $2 increase from the previous price of $13.99. The family plan has seen a larger increase, rising from $22.99 to $26.99 per month, a $4 jump that affects households sharing the service across multiple accounts.
The price changes are already in effect for new subscribers signing up for YouTube Premium accounts. Existing customers will see the new pricing structure rolled out gradually as their billing cycles renew.
YouTube Premium provides subscribers with ad-free viewing across the platform, background play functionality that allows videos to continue playing when apps are minimized, and access to YouTube Music, the company's music streaming service that competes with Spotify and Apple Music.
The price increase follows similar moves by other major streaming services over the past year, as platforms seek to improve profitability amid rising content costs and economic pressures. YouTube has not announced whether the price changes will extend to other markets beyond the United States.
