X announced changes to its creator payment program that will reduce compensation for accounts that aggregate content while increasing rewards for original creators.

The social media platform, owned by Elon Musk, said the changes are part of an overhaul of how it compensates content creators on the platform. According to X head of product Nikita Bier, the platform is cutting back on payments to accounts that are "flooding the timeline" with clickbait and rapid-fire news aggregation.

The policy shift appears designed to encourage original content creation over the reposting and aggregation of existing material. X did not specify the exact reduction amounts or timeline for implementing the changes.
