Microsoft Raises Surface Device Prices $500 Due to RAM Shortage
Microsoft increased prices for Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 from $999 to $1,499 amid global RAM shortages.

Microsoft has raised prices for two of its flagship Surface devices by $500 due to ongoing global RAM shortages, according to reports from Windows Central.
The 13-inch Surface Pro 11 and 13.8-inch Surface Laptop 7 now start at $1,499, up from their original $999 price point. The price increases represent a 50% jump from the devices' launch pricing.
The price hikes come as the technology industry continues to grapple with memory shortages that have affected hardware manufacturing costs across multiple product categories. Microsoft had previously stopped selling the $999 versions of these devices last year.
The Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 are among Microsoft's newest hardware offerings, featuring the company's latest design and performance specifications. Both devices target the premium laptop and tablet market segments.
The RAM shortage has been attributed to supply chain constraints and increased demand for memory components across the technology sector. Other manufacturers have also faced similar pressures on component costs and pricing.
