Tech Companies Announce Price Increases Across Consumer Electronics
Samsung, Microsoft, and other tech companies have implemented price hikes on smartphones, tablets, and computers in early 2025.

Multiple major technology companies have announced price increases across their consumer electronics products this month, affecting smartphones, tablets, and personal computers.
Samsung has raised prices on several Galaxy device models, including the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy S25 FE, and Galaxy S25 Edge smartphones. While base storage models maintain their original pricing, higher storage configurations now cost up to $80 more than previous versions. The company has also implemented price increases on Galaxy tablets.
Microsoft has increased prices on its Surface PC lineup by $300, with the company eliminating models priced below $1,000. The price adjustments affect two-year-old Surface computers that were previously available at lower price points.
Meanwhile, Android device users may receive compensation through a separate development, as a $135 million settlement with Google could provide payouts to millions of Android users, according to settlement documentation.
In related technology news, Sony announced it will discontinue certain features for users of 2023 and 2024 Bravia smart TV models who access content through antennas or set-top boxes, with the changes taking effect in May.
The price increases come amid broader trends in the consumer technology sector, where companies have been adjusting pricing structures across various product categories.
