Trump faces criticism from religious figures and media personalities
Former President Trump encountered pushback from religious leaders and media figures following controversial social media posts and public statements.

Former President Donald Trump faced criticism this week from multiple quarters, including religious leaders and media personalities, following a series of controversial statements and social media posts.
Trump posted an AI-generated image on his Truth Social platform that depicted him in a Christ-like pose, administering what appeared to be healing light to a person while ethereal figures descended from above. The 79-year-old former president later said he interpreted the image as showing him in the role of a doctor rather than a religious figure.
The post drew immediate criticism from some Christian groups, including those traditionally supportive of Trump. Religious experts suggested the imagery could alienate Christian voters ahead of upcoming midterm elections, particularly given the significant role these groups play in key races across the country.
Separately, Trump engaged in a public dispute with media personalities this week, referring to several right-wing figures including Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson, and Marjorie Taylor Greene as having "Low IQs" and calling them "stupid people" and "LOSERS." Jones responded by accusing Trump of "committing political suicide on purpose" and claiming he had made a deal to sabotage the midterms.
Jones, the Infowars host, also told his followers that America "is now under the control of a foreign government" and encouraged them to "fly their flags upside down, because our nation is in distress."
The controversies come as Trump continues to maintain his influence within Republican politics, though some observers suggest these incidents could affect his standing with key voter blocs in upcoming elections.
