8 children killed in Louisiana mass shooting; suspect dead after police chase
Eight children aged 18 months to 14 years were killed in domestic-related shootings across three locations in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Eight children were killed in a mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Sunday morning, according to police. The victims ranged in age from 18 months to 14 years old.
Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith said officers responded to the 300 block of West 79th Street just after 6 a.m. following reports of a domestic disturbance. The shooting involved multiple locations across the city, with a total of 10 people shot.
Two women were shot in the head but survived the attack, and a third person described as a young boy was injured while jumping from a roof. Some of the children killed were related to the suspect, according to Smith.
The gunman fled the scene by stealing a car and was pursued by police into neighboring Bossier City. The suspect was fatally shot during the chase, though details about the circumstances were not immediately clear. No officers were harmed in the incident.
"This is an extensive scene unlike anything most of us have ever seen," Smith said at a press conference. Louisiana State Police have been asked to investigate the officer-involved shooting that ended the pursuit.
Authorities described the incident as domestic-related violence and said they were still gathering details about the crime scenes. State police are asking anyone with pictures, video or information to contact detectives.
