Deezer Reports 44% of Daily Music Uploads Are AI-Generated
Music streaming platform Deezer says AI-generated songs account for 44% of daily uploads but only 1-3% of streams, with 85% flagged as fraudulent.

Music streaming platform Deezer disclosed that artificial intelligence-generated songs now represent 44% of all daily music uploads to its service, according to data shared by the company.
The platform receives approximately 75,000 AI-generated song submissions each day, highlighting the growing presence of algorithmically created content in the music industry. This figure represents nearly half of all new tracks uploaded to the streaming service on a daily basis.
Despite the high volume of AI-generated uploads, actual consumption of these tracks remains limited. Deezer reported that AI-generated music accounts for only 1-3% of total streams on the platform, indicating that users are primarily listening to human-created content.
The company has identified a significant fraud problem within AI-generated uploads, with 85% of streams from these tracks being flagged as fraudulent activity. Deezer said it demonetizes these fraudulent streams, preventing artificial inflation of play counts and associated revenue payments.
The data reveals a disconnect between the volume of AI-generated content being uploaded and genuine user engagement with such material. While automated systems can rapidly produce and upload large quantities of AI-generated music, listener preferences appear to favor traditional human-created content.
The findings come as the music industry grapples with questions about AI-generated content, including issues of authenticity, artist compensation, and platform policies regarding algorithmically created music.
