The device, called the Connection Keeper, is shaped like an oversized pasta jar lid and was developed in partnership with StoryCorps, the nonprofit organization known for collecting and preserving personal stories.

The Connection Keeper is intended to capture dinner table discussions for families to preserve as memories. The device sits on dining tables and records conversations that take place during family meals, creating audio files that can be saved for future listening.

The collaboration with StoryCorps aligns with that organization's mission of facilitating meaningful conversations between family members and preserving oral histories. StoryCorps has operated since 2003, collecting hundreds of thousands of interviews and stories from Americans across the country.

The product launch comes at a time when many households already contain multiple internet-connected devices capable of audio recording, including smart speakers, smartphones, and voice assistants. The Connection Keeper represents Prego's entry into the consumer technology space, expanding beyond the brand's traditional food products.

Prego has not yet announced pricing or widespread availability for the Connection Keeper device. The company positions the product as a tool for strengthening family bonds and creating lasting memories of shared meal experiences.
