Rex Heuermann, the accused Gilgo Beach serial killer, confessed to his wife that he murdered multiple women in their Long Island home, according to statements she made in a Peacock documentary.

Heuermann, who has pleaded guilty to murdering eight women, told his wife that he killed seven of the victims in a downstairs room of their residence while she was away from the home, according to the documentary.

The admissions provide new details about the location where some of the murders allegedly took place. Heuermann had access to the family's basement area to carry out the killings without his wife's knowledge, according to her account.

The Gilgo Beach case involves the murders of multiple women whose remains were discovered along a stretch of Long Island coastline. Heuermann was arrested in connection with the serial killings and has entered guilty pleas to charges related to eight victims.
