Trump Administration Officials Testify on 2027 Budget Requests Before Congress
Cabinet members appear before House and Senate committees to defend President Trump's fiscal 2027 budget proposals.

Several Trump administration officials are appearing before congressional committees this week to testify on the president's fiscal 2027 budget request and defend their respective departments' spending proposals.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent testified before the Senate Appropriations Committee, presenting the administration's financial priorities and budget framework for the upcoming fiscal year.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick appeared before a Senate Appropriations Committee panel to discuss the Commerce Department's budget request. His testimony comes amid ongoing fallout from the Supreme Court's February decision that struck down the majority of Trump's emergency import taxes, which the president had argued would boost domestic investment.
Separately, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman testified before the House Science, Space and Technology Committee about the space agency's budget needs. His appearance follows the recent completion of the Artemis II mission, NASA's first crewed lunar mission in 50 years, which concluded earlier this month when the Orion spacecraft splashed down off the coast of San Diego.
The congressional hearings are part of the annual budget review process, where cabinet officials present and defend their departments' funding requests to lawmakers who ultimately control federal spending.
