The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled approximately 207,800 pairs of 32 Degrees-branded heated socks sold at Costco due to burn risks.

The recall follows reports of at least 14 heat-related incidents connected to the socks, with 13 of those incidents involving burns to users. Some wearers reportedly sustained second-degree burns while using the product.

According to safety officials, the heated socks can pose burn risks due to the combination of heat, friction, moisture and pressure that occurs during athletic activities. The specific conditions created during physical exercise can lead to dangerous temperature levels against the skin.

The 32 Degrees heated socks were sold exclusively at Costco warehouses. Consumers who purchased the recalled socks are advised to stop using them immediately and contact the retailer for return information.

The recall underscores ongoing safety concerns with heated clothing products, which have become increasingly popular for outdoor activities and cold weather sports. The Consumer Product Safety Commission continues to monitor reports of injuries related to heated apparel items.
