Jake Reiner, the elder son of director Rob Reiner, published a public essay Friday reflecting on the deaths of his parents four months after they were found stabbed to death in their Los Angeles home.

In the Substack essay, Jake Reiner described his parents, director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner, as "the center" of his life. He wrote about the difficulty of processing the loss and the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

Nick Reiner, the couple's younger son and Jake's brother, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to previous reports, Nick Reiner had a history of struggles with drug addiction and mental illness. The couple was found dead in their Los Angeles residence earlier this year.

Rob Reiner is known for directing films including "When Harry Met Sally" and "The Princess Bride," as well as his acting role in the television series "All in the Family." The family tragedy has drawn attention due to Rob Reiner's prominent status in the entertainment industry.
