A Florida surgeon was arrested in connection with a patient's death after allegedly removing the wrong organ during surgery, according to police bodycam video obtained by NBC News.

Dr. Thomas Shaknovsky was taken into custody more than a year after the incident that resulted in a patient's death on the operating table. The video footage shows officers handcuffing Shaknovsky during the arrest.

According to the footage, Shaknovsky was driving for the rideshare service Lyft when law enforcement officers approached his vehicle. The bodycam video shows officers with weapons drawn as they conducted the arrest, with passengers visible in the back seat of the vehicle.

The arrest stems from allegations that Shaknovsky removed the incorrect organ from a patient during a surgical procedure, which resulted in the patient's death. The incident occurred over a year before the arrest took place.
