Mississippi middle school students stop school bus after driver loses consciousness
Students aged 12-15 steered their school bus to safety after the driver suffered an asthma attack and passed out on a highway.

Middle school students in Mississippi safely stopped their school bus Wednesday after their driver lost consciousness while driving on a highway.
The incident occurred as the bus was leaving Hancock Middle School in Kiln, Mississippi. Driver Leah Taylor suffered an asthma attack and passed out while operating the vehicle on a four-lane highway.
Students on the bus, ranging in age from 12 to 15 years old, quickly responded to the emergency situation. They took control of the steering wheel and managed to bring the bus to a safe stop, preventing what could have been a serious crash.
After stopping the vehicle, the students called for help to assist their unconscious driver. Taylor later recovered from the medical episode.
Following the incident, Taylor expressed gratitude to the students for their quick thinking, telling them "They saved my life." The students' actions prevented potential injuries to themselves and other passengers on the bus.
