Twenty-two Buddhist monks were arrested at an airport after authorities discovered approximately 110 kilograms of cannabis concealed in their luggage, officials announced.

The monks were returning from a vacation in Thailand when the discovery was made during routine baggage inspection. According to officials, each monk was found carrying around 5 kilograms of Kush, described as a particularly potent strain of cannabis.

The drugs were reportedly hidden within "false walls" constructed inside the monks' luggage, suggesting a coordinated effort to smuggle the substances. The sophisticated concealment method indicates planning and organization behind the operation.

Kush is recognized as a potent, plant-based form of cannabis that commands significant value in illegal drug markets. The large quantity seized represents a substantial drug trafficking operation.
