Former FBI Director James Comey said Thursday that President Donald Trump's behavior has changed since his first term in office, describing the president as appearing "off" compared to six years ago.

Speaking to CNN's Kasie Hunt, Comey characterized Trump's current demeanor as more erratic and self-focused than during their interactions in 2017. "I mean, I've always thought Donald Trump was a little bit off, but whoa, compared to even to six years ago, something's off," Comey stated.

Comey served as FBI Director from 2013 until his dismissal by Trump in May 2017. His removal came amid the FBI's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and potential connections to the Trump campaign.

The comments represent Comey's latest public assessment of Trump, continuing a pattern of critical statements the former FBI chief has made about the president since leaving office. Comey has previously authored a book and made numerous media appearances discussing his time leading the bureau during the early Trump administration.
