A 32-year-old Navy veteran has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged attack on the owner of a prominent pro-Trump property in Escondido, California.

Thomas Caleb Butler is accused of attacking 69-year-old Kerry Sheron on Wednesday. Sheron is known locally as the owner of what has been dubbed the "Trump House" due to its pro-Trump displays and decorations.

Sheron remains hospitalized in critical condition following the attack. His wife has reportedly told local media that she believes her husband has "no hope" of recovering from his injuries, though the exact nature of his condition has not been disclosed by authorities.
