Global billionaire population projected to reach nearly 4,000 by 2031
New analysis shows billionaire count could grow 25% over five years from current 3,110 individuals.

The global population of billionaires is projected to reach nearly 4,000 by 2031, according to new analysis from estate agent Knight Frank.
The study found there are currently 3,110 billionaires worldwide, a figure that is forecast to increase by 25% over the next five years to reach 3,915 individuals.
The analysis suggests what researchers described as a "deep structural acceleration" in wealth creation occurring around the world. This growth trajectory would represent a significant expansion of the ultra-wealthy population over a relatively short timeframe.
The projections come amid ongoing global economic changes and varying market conditions across different regions. The Knight Frank research tracks wealth patterns and demographic shifts among the world's highest net worth individuals.
If the forecasts prove accurate, the billionaire population would grow by more than 800 individuals between now and 2031, marking one of the most substantial increases in concentrated wealth accumulation in recent decades.
